A Bollywood Song At Tokyo Olympics!

A Bollywood Song At Tokyo Olympics!

| On 06, Aug 2021

India is known worldwide for its culture and Bollywood, but it is not often you find foreign nationals perform an Indian song at a major sporting event. When it does happen, though, you expect quite the reaction. In a 15 second clip breaking the internet, Israeli swimmers Shelly Bobritsky and Eden Blecher can be seen performing their routine on the hit Bollywood number at the Tokyo Olympics.

 A Catchy Bollywood Song

Their song of choice was none other than Madhuri’s Aaja Nachle. The duo danced and swam in the pool in a synchronised fashion and swift movements to the song’s rhythm with Bollywood song blaring out the auditorium speakers. The Indian social media went berserk with excitement during and after the performance as Indians expressed pleasant astonishment at what they saw unfolding before their eyes.

Trending Twitter Hashtags

Israel loves Bollywood, and the performance by our @Olympics Swimmers Eden Blecher and Shelly Bobritsky to MadhuriDixit’s Aaja Nachle”

Another hashtag read-

“Thank you so much Team Israel for this!! You have no idea how excited I was to hear and see this. AAJA NACHLE!!! #ArtisticSwimming #Olympics #Tokyo2020”

And thousands of more tweets followed.

Israel and India have always shared close ties, so to see athletes from Israel perform a routine on a Bollywood number at the Olympics while Indians cheer is indeed a pleasant sight to behold.
