BANISH THAT LOOK OF EXHAUSTION FROM YOUR FACE

BANISH THAT LOOK OF EXHAUSTION FROM YOUR FACE

It’s getting harder and harder these days to sport a fresh look at all times of the day, because life has become so busy. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have anything to fight back fatigue with: in this article, we give you five tips to keep that tired look off your face and demeanour.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, yes, but not even the most forgiving of beholders will be smitten by a tired face, dark circles around the eyes, and drooping or sagging skin around the cheeks and chin. Looking tired is a risk that we all must live with in this busy world of ours, but it doesn’t mean that we have to succumb to it. There are many ways in which you can banish that look of fatigue from your face. Here are a few of them:

1. Mix some eye cream to your concealer
Using a concealer is a good thing for brightening up those shadows on your face. But my adding a drop of eye cream to it will fill wrinkles as well and bring about a soft glow. To finish off, use a corrector pencil to touch up the corners of the eyes.

2. Wear red lips, and smile a lot!
Red lips are perhaps the best, most efficient way in which to revitalise your face and bring colour and freshness to it. Luscious lips are associated with good health and vivacity, so you can’t go wrong with a bright red dash to your lips. Go easy on the makeup when you do this so that the lipstick stands out, and remember to smile a lot.

3. Pay attention to the eyes
Relieve the congestion in your eye bags as a habit every morning. You can do this either by keeping a spoon in your refrigerator at night and touching it to the eyes for a few seconds in the morning, or you can soak two cotton pads in thermal water and leave them on your eyes for about 5-10 minutes. This will reduce the puffy look in your eyes and accentuate their natural shape.

4. Eat less sugar and high-GI foods
This will be hard if you have a sweet tooth or a rice/bread eater, but try and avoid foods with a high Glycemic Index. Glycation, a biochemical process triggered by sugar, has been associated with skin aging.

5. Quit smoking
The healthier you are, the less tired you look. Nothing saps your face and lungs of energy quite like smoking. It drains the colour off your lips and teeth. It brings in a faint shade of deathly yellow into your eyes. Before you know it, you’re looking five or ten years older than you are, and you probably also smell bad. So make a commitment and quit smoking if you want to look your best.
