Indian Summer Festival in Melbourne Set to Entertain Melbourne

Three-day Yarra Park festival will be headlined by Ecca Vandal, L-Fresh The Lion, Pav Dharia, Humble The Poet and Raxstar.

The Victorian Government in partnership with Cricket Australia has announced the huge line-up for the 2018 Indian Summer Festival – the free Indian food, music, art, film and cricket celebration coinciding with the Australia vs India Boxing Day Test. The best of modern India will be on display, showcasing a host of creative culture and cuisine, whilst paying homage to traditional Indian heritage.

The festival will be headlined by international acts Raxstar (UK) and Humble The Poet (CAN), Sydney-based L-Fresh The Lion and Pav Dharia, and Melbourne’s own Ecca Vandal across the three-days of activity.

The Festival will also include Indian food Truck offering authentic Indian cuisine alongside modern Indian fashion, music and art. Fans will have the chance to play cricket, meet some of their favourite cricketing stars and enjoy the spectacle of some exhibition kabaddi games.

The exciting program will see Yarra Park outside the MCG transformed into a cultural and culinary hub celebrating Victoria’s vibrant Indian community and fostering cross-cultural understanding.

Indian Summer Festival 2018
The Indian Summer Festival begins on Sunday December 23 coinciding with the free annual Bupa Family Day at the MCG and will feature appearances by the Australian and Indian men’s cricket teams. Live performances will see Raxstar (UK), Amin & Hari, Karishma Sadhai and Jay Dabgar Quartet take the stage.

The festival will continue over days one and two of the Boxing Day Test (Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 December), and is free and open to all members of the public.
