Fake affairs: A promotional gimmick in Bollywood

Bollywood stars have always left no stones unturned when it came to promoting their films. Fake affairs are one of the best crowd pullers as the lead pair tends to show their fake infatuation in order to bring more audience to the theatre. This newfound stereotype has been seen in Bollywood over the past one decade over and over again. From scandalous messages to leaked videos, revealing appearances and controversial statements have been well-known gimmicks carried out by Bollywood stars for the sole purpose of promotion.
The idea is to create a strong hype amongst the audience and that is very well achieved by a fake affair. Once the film hits the theatres, people come to realize that it was just a mere gimmick as the two stars tend to go their respective ways after that. One of the most topical examples would be Ranveer Singh & Deepika Padukone. The duo play on-screen lovers in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s latest, “Goliyon ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela” and were seen at various public events together right before the movie hit the theatres. The lead pair event went on to confess feelings for each other in front of media and led people to believe that they were indeed a couple.
But it all came to an end when both of them were seen with different people at the recently held “Finding Fanny Fernandez” bash. As a matter of fact, Deepika was in the news for Homi Adjania’s kiss.
Now since the response on the film has been good, so that actors have moved towards their respective courses.
