Fans mourn the death of Sidhu Moose Wala in Australia
The brutal killing of Siddhu Moosewala sparked a wave of controversy in India and angered many of his fans and admirers worldwide. The Punjab police are conducting an investigation to find out the culprit and bring them to justice. The Sikh community in Australia was profoundly shocked and saddened by the sudden death of beloved singer/rapper Sidhu Moosewala.
The death of Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, aka Sidhu Moose Wala, left his fans and admirers in utter shock and disbelief. The disheartened community of Melbourne gathered in the iconic Federation Square to pay their respects and condolences over the untimely death of the talented artist.
People from the community organised a candlelight march last week and expressed their condolences; some of his fans, such as Digvijay Singh, a 30-year-old network engineer from Melbourne, said that Sidhu’s music would keep inspiring the masses. Similarly, the organiser of the candle march said that his death left a massive vacuum in the Punjabi music industry.
Many others who took part in the candlelight vigil in Flinders Street, Melbourne, individually expressed their concerns. For instance, Aria Raza, a resident of Melbourne, hinted at the lack of security and a flawed administrative system that gave a chance for assailants to carry out the shooting. Moreover, she lamented the death by saying that Mr Moose Wala was a “son of Punjab” whose untimely death marked a tremendous loss to the community.
Moose Wala was born in Mansa, Punjab; he was a singer, songwriter, electrical engineer, politician and actor. Additionally, he broke several records in his mid-twenties, garnering millions of hits on YouTube and fans around the globe. His popularity grew with time among Punjabis and music lovers; prayer meetings are currently being held throughout Australia and his hometown.
Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has claimed responsibility for the murder. Consequently, Interpol issued red notices against Brar on 9th June 2022. The police claimed that the singer’s murder was retaliation for Akali leader Vicky Middukhera’s murder that took place last year. So far, Punjab police have arrested eight individuals in regards to the assassination.
