SALMAN KHAN’S “BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN” SURPASSES 200 CRORE BEATING AAMIR KHAN’S PK

It seems Salman Khan’s portrayal of an innocent Hanuman-worshipping man has gone well with the audience as Bollywood news updates are indicating that the Bollywood star’s movie collections are on the verge of surpassing rival Aamir Khan’s PK. Ever since its release, the movie has been going house-full across all major theatres in the country with people watching it not once, but multiple times in cinema halls. Till now, Bajrangi Bhaijaan has grossed a staggering 250 crore in 14 days since the movie hit the screens. The figures are close to 340 Crore which when surpassed, will break PK’s record.

PK had earned 340 crore during the entire period when it was screened at cinema halls, but Bajrangi Bhaijaan has crossed 250 crore merely 2 weeks into its release. The craze of the movie escalated after the first week with more people thronging the halls in the second week upon being recommended by other people. Figures show that the movie grossed around 56 crore during the previous weekend.

The word-of-mouth publicity of the movie has been making the rounds in such a way that many other film makers have postponed their movie releases which were slated for the week after the release of Bajrangi Bhaijaan. One of the movies which has been postponed is “Bunkistan” starring Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat. Furthermore, “I am Mr. Mother”, by I. A. Siddique has also been postponed.

The story line of Bajrangi Bhaijaan has received appreciation from the audience and critics as well.
