SHAHID KAPUR FINDS LOVE

For years, Shahid Kapur was best known as the boyfriend of Kareena Kapoor, and when the pair broke up in dire circumstances, many thought the actor would fade away into oblivion. But two hits and a Filmfare award later, Shahid Kapur is turning a new leaf.
Shahid Kapur has been one of Bollywood’s confusing celebrities.
He is a great dancer. He is a good looking guy, in possession of that boyish charm that makes women go weak in the knees. Not that Bollywood requires it, but he is a decent actor. He has all the pre-requisites of being an action star, his comic timing is not bad, and he is the son of a well-respected actor, Pankaj Kapur.
And yet, all these years, he has spent his career on the hinterlands of Bollywood, scraping up what the Khans have left over, playing the sidekick to bigger stars like Akshay Kumar, and getting by only barely, just there or thereabouts. For a long time, his biggest claim to fame was that he was the boyfriend of Kareena Kapoor, which was an injustice to his acting talent.
These days, things are turning around for the young actor, though. Ever since Vishal Bharadwaj cast him in the twin drama, Kaminey, he has turned a new leaf. R. Rajkumar, the directed by Prabhu Deva, rang bells at the box office, and then in Haider, he delivered that performance that won him his first Filmfare.
And now, on top of all that, he is getting married to Mira Rajput, a girl he met outside the film circle. For a long time now, he has been saying that he would like to have a wife who is outside of Bollywood so that it will give him the perspective he needs, and his wish seems to have been fulfilled.
