Try These Light and Easy Food With Low Calorie in Family Party
We all wait eagerly for this time of the year. There are parties and get-togethers all around us and in all probabilities you must be planning to host a party as well. But if you are a health junkie, you would probably want to keep those fried unhealthy food items off your menu. Try these Light and Easy Food with low calorie appetizers for this year’s party. All these preparations have less than 100 calories per serving.
1. Goat Cheese Bites with Orange Zest
Ingredients: 30 sweet potato and beet chips, 4 ounce goat cheese, 2-3 tablespoon honey, 1/4 teaspoon chilli flakes, pinch of ground ginger and freshly grated orange zest and for garnishing we need sprouts or Microgreens.
Recipe: Take a bowl and mix honey, ginger, orange zest and chilli flakes. Now before serving, top the chips with goat cheese, the mixture, a little more orange drizzle and sprouts.
2. Pomegranate and Polenta Wedges
Ingredients: 3/4 cup of pomegranate seeds, 1 and half cups of instant polenta, 2/3 cup of Greek yogurt (non fat), 2 tablespoon of sage leaves (finely chopped), olive oil cooking spray and 6 tablespoon sliced almonds.
Recipe: Boil 4 and half cups of water (with salt) and then add polenta. Cook polenta thoroughly on low flame and add chopped sage. Now transfer polenta to a greased 9×13 inch pan and let it cool.
Heat the broiler pan by placing it 6-7 inches away from the heat. Roll polenta out of the pan to a cutting board and cut triangles (wedges) out of it. Put all the wedges on a foil-lined baking sheet and disperse some more sage leaves around the wedges and spray the sheet with olive oil cooking spray.
Bake for 3-5 minutes, till the wedges turn golden and crisp. Let them cool off for 1-2 minutes and then garnish with yogurt, almonds and pomegranate seeds.
3. Crunchy Brussels Sprouts with Honey-Sriracha Sauce
Ingredients: 1 and a half pounds Brussels sprouts, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, 1 tablespoon canola oil, 2 tablespoon lime juice, 1 teaspoon sriracha, 1/4 cup honey, 1/4 teaspoon toasted sesame oil, 1/4 cup hoisin sauce and sesame seeds for garnishing.
Recipe: Cut off leaves from the sprouts and trim the bottoms. Heat the oven to 400 degrees and toss the sprouts with salt and canola oil on a baking sheet. Roast for 20-25 minutes, till they become golden brown from one side.
Meanwhile, mix honey, hoisin sauce, lime juice, sesame oil and sriracha in a small bowl. Transfer the sauce to a small serving plate/bowl and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top. Now, serve the sprouts with this sauce on a platter.
4. Low Calorie Cocktails
Shandy Dandy: 3 ounce of ginger beer, 1/2 ounce cider, 4 ounce of light beer and a little lemon juice.
Coconut Cooler: 2 ounces of gin, 4 ounces of coconut water, 1/4 ounce agave syrup and 1/4 ounce lime juice.
