Is Aamir Khan Losing Out on Good Projects?

Aamir Khan will end this year with the success of PK, which is already being touted as the ‘film of the year’. The much-awaited entertainer stars Anushka Sharma, Boman Irani and Sanjay Dutt, besides our Mr. Perfectionist. While this year was amazingly successful for Aamir, he has no films in his kitty for 2015. If you are thinking he is taking a break from films to concentrate more on Satyamev Jayate, you are wrong. He has no plans to produce another season of the popular show either.
So, it’s okay to assume that his fans will not see a lot of him during 2015. This scenario could have been very different if he hadn’t said ‘NO’ to two scripts, brought to him by filmmakers like Farhan Akhtar and Karan Johar. Aamir was approached for an upcoming venture to be produced by Excel Entertainment (Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Production House), but apparently Aamir turned down the offer due to creative differences. Deepika Padukone has been finalised to play the female lead of this film and if Aamir would have said yes, this film would have brought them together on the silver screen for the very first time.
Besides this project, Aamir also turned down a film by Dharma Productions. Karan Johar was trying to get Aamir on-board from a long time and the two were in talks with each other regarding a project. But now it has been confirmed that Aamir has backed-off from that project, leaving Karan in a tricky situation.
Aamir’s Mr. Perfectionist’s attitude makes him who he is, but if he could do Dhoom 3, he could have done what Farhan and Karan were offering him.
