Diwali – The Power of Light

Diwali – The Power of Light

Light brings hope and it brings joy to our hearts! What is so amazing about these electromagnetic radiations that we humans are so fascinated by light? Well, it’s the emotions it brings along with it. When you wake up in the night after a horrific nightmare, the first thing you want to do is to switch on the lights in order to reassure yourself that everything is alright and there is no scary ghost or a monster sitting right behind you. When you see a stunning firework display, a wave of astonishment fills your body. It makes you feel that the world is a happy and prosperous place.

Indians acknowledge the influence of light by celebrating the mother of all festivals – Diwali. The festival is celebrated to commemorate the conquest of darkness by the power of light. When Diwali is around the corner, India as well as Australia become a dazzling carnival of gaiety and glee. It is one of the most social festivals one can possibly think of. We all wait eagerly for the festive season to kick off so that we can buy new clothes, stuff ourselves with the yummiest of delicacies and meet our uncles, aunts, cousins, and everyone else who can be identified as a relative.

Diwali brings a boost to India’s and to some extent Australia’s GDP levels since no matter how prosperous or broke you are, you would go out and buy new stuff for yourself and for your family. Although 2022 has been a terrible year for the Australian economy so far, let’s just hope that Diwali will bring back the flourishing times. From the team of ‘Made in India’, we wish you a Happy Diwali! May the enchanting power of light keep your spirits abound and effervescent for the year-end celebrations as well.
