 Garam Masala Chocolate Cake Recipe

This Garam Chocolate Cake recipe was the Blue Ribbon Winner at the 2016 World Food Championship. The Garam spice blend can add an incredible flavour to cakes. The original ‘Garam’ recipe was experimented in cupcakes, but today you can find it in standard cakes as well. Regardless of how you choose to cook it, this recipe makes for an excellent chocolate experience. Many have come to trust it as a fantastic dessert recipe, especially chocolate lovers.

Garan Masala Recipe

  • 2 cups of flours
  • 2 cups of granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
  • ½ tablespoon of baking powder
  • ¾ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ tablespoon of salt
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs at room temperature
  • 1 cup of softened butter
  • 1 cup of buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons of Garam Masala spice blend

Frosting

For frosting, here are the ingredients you need.

  • 1 ½ cup of semi-sweet chocolate bits
  • 1 cup of softened butter
  • 1/3 cup of Caramel sauce
  • ½ tablespoon of salt
  • ½ cup of powdered sugar

Chocolate Icing

For chocolate cake icing, you will need

  • 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate bits
  • 1 tablespoon of heavy cream
  • ½ cup of chopped salt almonds

Direction for making Garam Masala Chocolate Cake

If you want to make this cake, these are the steps to take:

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, then spray the sides of the baking pan. A 9×13 pan is ideal.

Step 2: Mixture

In a medium bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, baking soda and baking powder. Next, in a separate bowl, mix cocoa and water and whisk until it is smooth. Then mix all the ingredients in a larger bowl.

Step 3: Introduce the Garam Masala Recipe

Time to introduce the Garam Masala spice blend. Mix it with your ingredients. Then, pour the batter into the pan and put it in the preheated oven.

Step 4: Bake your chocolate

Let the ingredients bake for 30 minutes, then test to see if the ingredients have formed well enough. To test this, pierce a knife into the paste. If it comes out clean, then the cake is well baked.

Step 5: Leave to cool

Place the chocolate cake outside and let it cool.

Step 6: Frosting

For your frosting, combine butter, salt, powdered sugar, and caramel sauce in a mixing bowl and mix until it is smooth. Frost the surface with this mixture.

Step 7: Icing

Melt chocolate chips in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Now add cream and mix well. Next drizzle over the frosted cake, then top your cake with almonds.

Voila! your ‘Garam Masala’ cake is ready.
