Home Made Italian Treat – Pasta in White Sauce
Pasta is the staple food of Italy and unlike Pizza, which is comparatively a newer addition in the Italian cuisine, Pasta dates back centuries. It is a wholesome, kid friendly preparation which can be easily cooked at home. But many people find preparing the classic ‘pasta in white sauce’ a little difficult. Here’s a quick recipe you can try at home for preparing mouth-watering, rich flavoured pasta.

Recipe
- Boiling the Pasta – Add water, salt and oil in a pan and heat for about a minute on high flame. Now add the pasta and let it boil for about 8-10 minutes on medium flame. When the pasta becomes soft enough, separate all the pasta from water. You can use a sieve or a sifter for doing so.
- Preparing White Sauce
- First chop all the vegetables into fine pieces. Keep it aside.
- Now in a pan, add butter and let it heat for about 30 seconds, after that add onion to the pan and heat for another 2 minutes.
- Add baby corn, mushrooms and capsicum and mix well.
- Now add oregano and heat for 4-5 minutes.
- Add flour to the pan, heat for a few seconds and then add salt, chilli flakes, milk and pepper to the mixture. Heat the sauce for at least 5-6 minutes. It will become thicker and creamier.
- Mixing the Pasta and the White Sauce – Add cream and boiled pasta to the sauce and mix well. Let it heat for another 2 minutes. Garnish the pasta with cheese and grill it for about 4-5 minutes.
Lip smacking pasta in white sauce is now ready to serve!
