After 13 years, World Trade Centre rises again

It has been 13 years since the attacks on World Trade Centre shook the world. As the two planes hit each of the twin towers, the world gazed in absolute shock and horror as the towers came down like dominos. The course of rebuilding the iconic skyscraper from scratch and rubble commenced soon after and finally on December 3, 2014, the doors were opened once again. Close to 200 employees were seen moving into the newly constructed World Trade Centre, said to be the tallest skyscraper in US now.
The employees belong to publishing heavyweight Conde Nast, which has occupied 20 to 44 floors of the emblematic tower. These employees followed company chief executive Charles Townsend into the building who made a public statement saying “This is a terrific day for Lower Manhattan, a wonderful day for New York City and an absolutely great day for Conde Nast”. The publishing giant, which owns a range of magazines including Vanity Fair and The New Yorker is said to be the first of the tenants to move into the 104-storey tower based in Lower Manhattan. In addition to that, close to 3,400 Conde Nast employees will be moving into World Trade Centre by 2015.
Those who entered the building were seen with gleaming faces, but at the same time, somewhat nervous owing to security concerns. World Trade Centre stands not as a symbol of fear, but as a symbol of hope and inspiration for people of Manhattan. The foundation of the building has been laid exactly on the spot where a staggering 2,700 people lost their lives when two hijacked planes crashed straight into each of the two towers on September 11, 2001. Furthermore, it is directly adjacent to the memorial that had been set up for the victims of that fateful day.
Maryanne Casey, who is employed with a Legal Affiliate associated to Conde Nast recalls personal memories as her brother was one of the fire fighters who selflessly helped in the rescue process during the aftermath. She further goes on to express her joy on seeing the new World Trade Centre, which stands out as a perfect tribute to the integrity of America.
Originally, the project was scheduled to be completed by 2006, but the date gradually pushed back due to various reasons. At a staggering cost of $3.9 billion, construction workers worked day and night throughout the course of past decade. 60% of the new tower has already been leased to tenants who will be setting up offices in the coming months.
Ever since the black day, the images of the horrendous attacks have haunted the people of America as well as other nations of the world that witnessed the gruesome blow to United States of America as they switched on their television sets on September 11, 2001. Over the course of past 13 years, the outrage against terrorism has increased like a ball of fire and United States successfully gunned down Osama Bin Laden, said to be the mastermind behind the attacks.
World Trade Centre signifies the integrity of the nation and sends a loud message expressing how a nation can stand up no matter how hard it is hit.
